Valerie Griffiths

valerieValerie is certified at the 200-hour level by Live Love Teach with Philip Urso, Renee Deslauriers and Terry Munnelly.  She is currently working toward her 500-hour certification with Live Love Teach. Valerie’s class is designed to help students develop consciousness with breath and body awareness through fun and challenging poses; recognizing that yoga is a journey and each individual’s practice is unique to them. She lives in Portsmouth with her husband, 3 children and black Labrador named Onyx.

gayleI began flirting with yoga 11 years ago when my youngest daughter entered preschool because I wanted  to regain lost flexibility.  It became quickly apparent that I was connecting with the power of yoga on a much deeper level than just the physical. In 2013, i felt drawn to share this with others and I completed  the 200 Hour Live Love Teach Teacher Training with Philip Urso, Renee Deslauriers and Terry Munnelly  at Newport Power Yoga.   It’s a privilege to guide students through this amazing practice of breath and body awareness, so that they too may experience  the healing calm, strength, and focus that yoga can provide – whether on or off the mat.

Elena Besedin

Elena-BesedinElena Besedin has completed her 200 Hour Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste and 500 hours RYT with Live Love Teach. She discovered yoga in 2005. At that time she was enjoying a demanding and fulfilling professional career as an environmental scientist and did not plan to become a yoga teacher even in her wildest dreams. Yoga came into her life like a true miracle – completely unexpected. Teaching was a natural step in Elena’s practice.

Sharing her passion for yoga with the students enriched her own yoga practice and life – her love for yoga started growing and multiplying. She teaches her classes with rigor, precision and a touch of humor. More recently, she also started blending her passion for yoga and research. She was a principal investigator and co-author of several yoga studies conducted by the University of Connecticut, including “Relations between Yoga Dose and Emotional Well-Being.” She also contributes to Live Love Teach teacher’s trainings and workshops at various studios nationwide.


Jessica Gumkowski


Jess is a 500-hr Live Love Teach trained RYT, Ironman triathlete, plant based nutrition enthusiast, dedicated meditator, writer and creator of  She credits mindfulness practices and high vibrational eating with creating significant and meaningful changes in her health, career and relationships; and holds both essential to peak performance in sport and life.
With contagious enthusiasm, Jess shares her knowledge, experience, and passion for mindfulness, nutrition and athletic training in her yoga classes, during YogiTriathlete community events and in her writing.
Jess lives in Newport, RI with her husband BJ and their four legged kids.

Lori Pagliaroni


Lori has completed her 800-hr teacher training “Life Of A Yogi” with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York City. She has studied with him for several years and considers him her preceptor on her yogic path.  Lori has also received 200-hr teacher training certifications from Grace Yoga and from Live, Love, Teach Yoga Teacher Training School.  E-RYT 500, RYT 800.

Renee Deslauriers


Renee co-founded RIPY with Terry Munnelly and Philip Urso and is a Live Love Teach facilitator.

Renee’s teachers include MaryAnn Nassa, Donna Nassa, Bikram & Rajashree Choudhury, Baron Baptiste and Philip Urso. She completed Baptiste’s Level 1 & 2 Teacher Training and Urso’s 300-hour teacher training.  E-RYT-500.

Terry Munnelly


I discovered yoga at exactly the right time in my life. I began practicing soon after September 11th, 2001 while living near lower Manhattan and received my E-RYT 200 through Open Doors Power Yoga Studios in North Attleboro, MA. After teaching at studios throughout MA & RI, I opened Newport Power Yoga in May 2011. I’ve since completed Bryan Kest’s Teacher Training and received my 500-hour certification from Live Love Teach’s advanced vinyasa teacher training program. I’ve come to believe that the ultimate goal of yoga is a quiet mind and a dis-ease free body. A realization that nothing is missing and everything is possible.

Terry co-founded RIPY with Philip Urso and Renee Deslauriers.
